Project Update - New team members, Steam Dev Days, Crowdfunding
Happy Weekend folks!
Some cool project updates and info to share with you all. It's been a great week for us. Outrise was at Steam Dev Days this week and we have some new talented developers that have joined us. We also want to know your thoughts on what you'd like to see in a crowdfunding campaign.
New team members
We just brought on two new amazing team members this week; A lead gameplay programmer and technical animator. We're also meeting with another lead next week and will hopefully have more news for you on that. We can't say who their names are yet but I'll tell you they are all ridiculously talented and with several high profile credits to their name. We're hand picking the team who has the ideal skillset to tackle Outrise's unique challenges...especially with networking and human/robot interaction. We're well on our way of having the right team in place to be able to launch a crowdfunding campaign on something like Kickstarter (More on that below).
What type of rewards would you like to see in a crowdfunding campaign for Outrise? We'll try and stay low on physical goods as much as possible, since that eats into valuable funding budgets. We'd rather add Oculus rift support and enrich the actual game experience than give away physical merchandise. However, if there are things you'd just have to have let us know what it is!
For us one of the core elements of Outrise is empowerment - wielding incredible destructive power and the ability to destroy numerous real players quickly. However, it's also awesome to be the underdog and take down massive foes. With that in mind what content and experienced would you like to see featured the most in a crowdfunding campaign?
Heres a sneak peak at some illustrations of the playable prototype we're working on:
Steam Dev Days
We were at Steam Dev Days this week It's insane that valve has over 75 million total users. We met with some key partners, and some new high profile partners reached out to us as well. Nothing official to report on that front yet.
